It’s something that I have tried to do but sadly haven’t been able to do because of money, or other circumstances.

I have wanted to live there since before I knew how to spell it. My entire life, New York City has been the goal. Instead of complaining about the car ride, or the fact that I only would be able to spend a day in New York, I decided to see everything as a sign from destiny. So when I heard Madonna say “there’s only so much you can learn in one place.” It was as if Madonna herself had been sitting right next to me sharing intimate stories of her successes and failures (very few failures, I’m sure) I immediately felt like this road trip, was meant to inspire me, and remind me of what I want, and where I want to be. I hadn’t heard this song in a good six months, and I was in one of those moods where I take every song very literally, and try to connect the lyrics to my life, like they had been written specifically for me. On around the 16 th hour of travel, I was listening to “The Devil Wears Prada Soundtrack” like the smart, cultured, girl that I am, when “Jump” by Madonna came on. The nearly 20-hour drive to New Jersey from Kansas City, definitely took a toll on my mind and body. This time I was somewhat reluctant considering it was going to be an 18-hour drive both there and back, but I was willing to do just about anything as long as it meant I could be reunited with New York. I don’t really care where to, or how long, the whole experience is enough for me. Over winter break I was lucky enough to go on a short road trip. He's just so bothered about something that really does not affect a single thing about him. It's a kid screaming into his phone about his distress towards something that has absolutely nothing to do with how he functions in his everyday life. The only comedy I find in this video is the mindset of the person behind the screen the fact that anyone could truly believe they are justified in acting this way is baffling. I don't even use the filter myself, but I'm thoroughly exhausted with reading "humorous" posts online about why anyone who uses the filter should be trashed. It was not created so that people could snicker behind screens, poke fun, and call names. There is nothing wrong with feeling cute behind a mask. Show of hands, who truly believes that a dog filter on a woman's face is a direct and accurate representation of a woman's respect for herself? My bet is that the filter was created solely because puppies are adorable and sweet little creatures, NOT because they represent anything that has to do with sexuality or objectification of women. I truly cannot understand the reasoning behind such strong feelings against something that was given to us for pure and innocent fun on an app. What is it about the dog filter that is bothering so many people? I'm asking you, the reader, to enlighten me.
